In a world increasingly aware of the importance of the quality of the air we breathe, RESET certification has become a key tool for companies seeking to ensure healthier and more productive environments.
RESET is a building certification standard based on the continuous monitoring and performance of buildings. It is one of the most comprehensive building standards, with 5 modular partial certifications and with the possibility of partial justification. These partial certifications are classified into "embodied standard" criteria (Embodied Carbon, embodied circularity, embodied health), which incorporate data associated with construction processes throughout the life cycle of a built environment, and the "operational standard" (RESET Air, RESET Water, RESET Energy & RESET Waste), which are based on data associated with continuous monitoring of the built environment.
RESET Air is the specific certification for assessing the impact of air quality on indoor health, productivity and sustainability. This certification is applicable to both new and existing projects, with two subcategories of buildings: Commercial Interiors (CI) and Core & Shell (CS).
The certification for "Commercial interiors" focuses on the indoor air quality in a part or section of the building, aimed at tenants or partial owners of an indoor space, such as offices, commercial premises, etc.
For a project to achieve RESET™ Air certification for commercial interiors, the indoor air quality parameters, controlled by continuous monitoring and calculated on a daily average based on occupancy hours, must be maintained within the limits listed below.
"Regular Performance" targets are mandatory and all projects must meet them, while "High Performance" targets are indicated as a benchmark for projects pursuing more stringent indoor air quality objectives and/or for projects located in regions where outdoor air quality levels are generally maintained within recommended health limits.
RESET Air "Core & Shell" focuses on the quality of the air provided by the mechanical system (HVAC) of the building and is oriented to owners and developers. To obtain this certification, indoor air quality parameters, controlled by continuous monitoring, must be maintained within the limits given below. Daily averages are calculated from the hours of occupancy and compared to international indoor air quality limits.
To meet RESET Air standards, projects need an accredited monitor that continuously measures CO₂, PM2.5 and TVOC, as well as temperature and relative humidity, and efficiently transmits that information to the RESET cloud for analysis. These monitors must easily display the information, must be wall mo untable, and it is recommended that they have a continuous power supply.
RESET™ Air accredited monitors are defined and classified by grade and type. Monitor grade defines the performance, accuracy and data reporting capability of a monitoring device. Monitor type defines the purpose and application framework. Only Grade A and Grade B monitors are accepted for use in RESET Air projects. The minimum requirements for Grade B are specified below.
inBiot's MICA devices are RESET Grade B accredited, meeting all specified requirements. With high-precision sensors and a long service life, MICA combines performance, reliability and cost, ensuring quality in indoor air monitoring.
In addition, inBiot has simplified the process through the My inBiot platform. This tool makes it possible to consult progress towards RESET certification in real time, facilitating data management and corrective actions.+
inBiot's air quality monitoring solutions, backed by RESET certification, provide a clear and effective approach to achieving healthy and sustainable indoor environments. Don't hesitate to contact us for more information and start improving the air quality in your space.
